Flanders Fish Market & Restaurant - East Lyme, CT

Open again for the season, Flanders Fish Market & Restaurant served up their signature specials and some new menu items.

The restaurant opened up their patio with outdoor picnic tables that are available on a first come, first serve basis.

I was looking forward to my favorite appetizer: Cappy's Shrimp, seasoned with Old Bay and cooked with tomatoes, scallions, and served with tortilla chips on the side. This dish never disappoints!

The large order of chicken wings were seasoned with lots of the famous Old Bay spices, and cooked to perfection: nice and crispy...just the way I like it!

In the bottom right corner is the Stuffed Portabella. I am not much of a mushroom fan myself, but the stuffing, consisting of crab meat, vegetables, and mozzarella cheese makes it worth a try.

Above that is something I heard a lot of people praising--Baked Avocado. I really like avocado, so this was an appetizer I was already interested in trying before I even saw what was in it. This is unique because they added lump crab, corn, and a pico cilantro crema.

Flanders is well known by locals for having pretty good donuts too, so if you find yourself in the area to feed your sweet tooth, I suggest checking out their Fish Market & Restaurant for the perfect mixture of surf and turf!

David Burke Prime Steakhouse at Foxwoods opened back up for dining in the restaurant 2 days before the official Phase 2 Reopening in CT. Although the menu is limited, they do not fail to still deliver their premium steaks, and favorite entrees. Defending Jacob is a series produced by Apple TV+, based on the book by William Landay with the same name. The series stars Chris Evans, Michelle Dockery, and Jaeden Martell. It premiered on April 24th, 2020, and its final episode of the first season was today, May 29th. Costello’s Clam Shack - Noank, CT

One of my favorite things about living in New England during the summer is being able to eat fresh seafood by the water. Since CT is in the process of their Phase 1 reopening, many restaurants have welcomed customers back with outdoor seating, just in time for the warm weather. Temperatures reached into the upper 70s and low 80s today and boats were docked at the shipyard once again. Not only is it the first time I have sat down to eat at a restaurant since the shutdown, but I also had my first lobster roll of the year--before the first day of summer!!
